We're Excited to Announce That Wasatch Tax & Accounting is Now a Part of Averett & Associates, PC

First and foremost, thank you for your continued trust. I recognize that many of you worked closely with Neala for years, and I greatly respect those long-standing relationships. As part of this transition, Neala has stepped away from Wasatch Tax and is no longer handling scheduling or ongoing client communications. To ensure timely service and accountability, please direct any questions to our office going forward.

I’m pleased to share that Dalene, Bryan, and Melissa have joined my firm and will continue supporting Wasatch Tax clients. You may also notice a few new faces as we expand our team to better serve you. Additionally, you will still have access to your SmartVault client portal and any documentation uploaded there. My goal is to keep the same familiar processes in place, while making improvements where possible to ensure your experience is smooth and efficient.

By way of introduction, I am Paul Averett, CPA, and I’m a graduate of BYU with over 28 years of experience as a CPA. I founded Averett & Associates, PC in 2005 and am a member of the AICPA and the Utah Association of Public Accountants. My wife, Kimberly, and I have raised our family here in Utah, and we never plan to leave. I value building long-term client relationships and look forward to working with you.

Our services include tax preparation and planning, payroll, bookkeeping and small business accounting, strategic business planning, new business formation, elder care and estate planning support, personal financial planning, and QuickBooks setup and training.

As we are currently headed into the 2026 tax season, I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible for tax preparation services. I understand that transitions can take time, and we’re happy to answer any questions or address concerns. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve you.

Additional Information on Our Processes

To securely exchange confidential information and data, we will continue to use SmartVault.  You should have received a SmartVault email with a link to your client portal, including your Tax Organizer and Engagement Letter. If you haven't seen it, or if you would prefer paper copies, please reach out to our office.

Once your return has been completed, you will receive a review copy, along with the Efile authorization (Form 8879) to be signed through DocuSign. If you would like to schedule a 30-minute Wrap-Up/Final Review appointment (in office, through Zoom, or over the phone) please call the office at 801-768-1500.  Just a reminder, we must have all necessary information prior to a wrap-up appointment.

We accept all credit/debit cards, cash, non-temporary checks, as well as PayPal.  Once you have received a final invoice, you can go to our Payment Hub to make a payment. Tax preparation must be paid for prior to efiling the tax return.  You can also call the office to provide payment over the phone.

Just a reminder: You do not need to schedule an appointment to drop your information off at the office. You WILL want to call the office to confirm someone is in to receive your info: we do not have an after-hours drop box at the office.
